Biometric Data Collection for Russian Visas

As of now, all individuals applying for a Russian visa in Great Britain and Northern Ireland must provide biometric data (fingerprints) as part of the application process. This requirement applies to all types of Russian visas, except diplomatic and official visas, and does not apply to individuals under 12 years of age.

To provide biometric data, applicants must appear in person at IBS VP in London. Applicants may also choose to go to the Russian Visa Application Centre in London, Edinburgh or Manchester.

Ensure that the application form and all supporting documents are completed accurately and thoroughly to avoid delays or the need to resubmit due to incomplete or incorrect documentation.

Private Biometric Procedure

We offer a portable BIO Kit service where experienced visa officers can visit your office to collect fingerprints and securely deliver this information to the Embassy for processing.

VIP – The Process of Using our Portable Biometric Device Service

  • The client emails copies of their documents to IBS VP.
  • IBS VP reviews and prepares the documents for submission.
  • The client schedules a convenient time, date, and location for biometric data collection (location must have Vodafone 3G/4G coverage).
  • IBS VP calculates the final cost depending on location.**
  • A dedicated immigration officer visits the client’s office with a portable biometric device, collects fingerprints and original documents (passport, invitation, photo, etc).
  • We process the application and notify the client when their passport is ready for collection.
  • The client collects the passport with the visa in our office.

Cost of service: £450 plus transport (depends on location)*

*Excludes visa fees

Out-of-Hours Service

Applications for Russian visas can be accepted between 8:30 and 9:00 am on workdays by appointment only. A cancellation fee of £48 applies.
